The Analysis of dentition of Hutterites group in Přibice (Moravia)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na zhodnocení stavu chrupu skupiny novokřtěnců nalezených na pohřebišti v Přibicích, které je datováno od poloviny 16. století do počátku 20. let 17. století. Hodnocený osteologický materiál pochází z bioarcheologického výzkumu přibického pohřebiště z let 2018 až 2021. Studie se primárně zaměřuje na chrup, který bylo možné zhodnotit u 65 dospělých jedinců a 32 dětí. Při hodnocení dentice tohoto souboru byl zaznamenán stav zachovalosti zubů a alveolů, zubní kaz, zubní kámen, zubní abraze, hypoplazie zubní skloviny a některé typy anomálií. Komparativní dentální index CDI pro dospělé jedince z Přibic vyšel 48,56 a komparativní alveolární index CAI měl hodnotu 60,14. U nedospělých jedinců z Přibic kategorie juvenis byla hodnota CDI 57,03 a CAI 52,34. Zjištěné výsledky hodnocení dentice, vč. indexů CDI a CAI, byly porovnávány v rámci jednotlivých věkových a pohlavních kategorií přibického souboru a následně i se středověkými a novověkými kosterními soubory česko-slovenského prostředí, ve kterém se novokřtěnci v 16. a 17. století pohybovali.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the evaluation of the dentition of the New Baptists found at the burial site in Přibice, which dates from the middle of the 16th century to the beginning of the 1620s. The osteological material evaluated comes from the bioarchaeological research of the burial site of Přibice from 2018 to 2021. The study primarily focuses on the dentition, which could be evaluated in 65 adults and 32 children. In the evaluation of the dentition of this population, the state of preservation of teeth and alveoli, dental caries, dental calculus, dental abrasion, enamel hypoplasia and some types of anomalies were recorded. The comparative dental index CDI for adults from Přibice came out to be 48,56 and the comparative alveolar index CAI had a value of 60,14. For the immature individuals from Přibice of the juvenis category, the CDI and CAI values were 57,03 and 52,34. The findings of the dentition evaluation, including the CDI and CAI indices, were compared within the individual age and sex categories of the study population from Přibice and subsequently also with medieval and modern populations from the Czech-Slovak environment in which New Baptists lived in the 16th and 17th centuries.
