Innovative educational material for the prison service

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou aktuálních a dlouhodobých potřeb a možností inovativních změn v oblasti vzdělávání příslušníků Vězeňské služby ČR. Sestává z teoretické a aplikované (praktické) části. Teoretická část obsahuje stručné seznámení s vývojem vězeňství od úsvitu dějin až po současnost. Předkládá vybraná specifika vězeňského prostředí a vzdělávání příslušníků vězeňské služby, poukazuje na nové trendy v jejich vzdělávání, upozorňuje na vybrané problémy a výzvy spojené s měnícími se požadavky na vzdělávání a rozvoj nových příslušníků Vězeňské služby ČR a pozornost věnuje též obecným vzdělávacím programům. V praktické části jsou představeny výsledky průzkumu zaměřeného na hodnocení specifických znalostí příslušníků a prezentován návrh nových školících materiálů určených k distanční výuce příslušníků vězeňské služby formou e-learningu ve služebním poměru v délce do tří let. Cílem práce je na základě vybrané legislativy z oblasti Vězeňské služby ČR navrhnout systém vzdělávání příslušníků Vězeňské služby ČR v oblasti legislativy. Dílčím cílem práce je zjistit stávající vědomosti v oblasti legislativy na straně příslušníků Vězeňské služby ČR.

Abstract:

The presented diploma thesis addresses the contemporary and long-term exigencies and prospects for innovative transformations within the domain of education for members of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. Comprising both theoretical and applied components, the thesis first furnishes a succinct historical overview of the evolution of the penal system, encompassing its inception to the present day. It delineates the unique aspects of the prison milieu and the educational framework tailored for Prison Service personnel, highlighting emergent trends in their instruction, while identifying pertinent issues and challenges arising from evolving educational requisites and the induction of new recruits into the Czech Republic's Prison Service. Additionally, it underscores the significance of comprehensive educational programs. In the practical segment, the thesis presents findings derived from a survey aimed at assessing the specific knowledge base of Prison Service members. Furthermore, it proffers a blueprint for novel training materials designed for remote learning via e-learning platforms, tailored for Prison Service personnel with up to three years of tenure. The primary objective of this endeavor is to formulate a structured training regimen focusing on legislative aspects pertinent to the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, drawing from select legislative enactments. A secondary aim is to ascertain the current level of understanding among Prison Service members regarding legislation within their purview.
