Pesticide impact on freshwater fauna with special reference to macroinvertebrates in an agricultural landscape

Abstract:

Ve sladkovodních ekosystémech jsou občas detekována rezidua pesticidů, která unikla z blízkých polí. Tyto pesticidy mohou mít negativní vliv na sladkovodní faunu a flóru. Společenstva bezobratlých jsou vysoce citlivá na změny chemických vlastností vod a taky akumulují ve svých tělech různé látky, včetně pesticidů. Častější používání pesticidů způsobuje degradaci vhodných přírodních stanovišť pro populace bezobratlých. Nejohroženějším životním stádiem hmyzu je larva, která je nejblíže v kontaktu s pesticidy ve vodním prostředí. Menší negativní vliv na organismy mohou mít nanopesticidy, které se začaly používat v současné době, ale o jejich působení na organismy se zatím moc neví. Praktická část této bakalářské práce se věnuje detekci acetamipridu, lambda-cyhalothrinu a indoxakarbu z vybraných lokalit za použití metody kapalinové chromatografie. Výsledky ukázaly, že ve vytipovaných lokalitách nebyly objeveny žádné náznaky po výskytu hledaných pesticidů. Je nutné pokračovat s monitorováním pesticidů z povrchových vod a zjišťovat, jak velký vliv mají dané pesticidy na organismy a vymyslet alternativu používání méně toxických pesticidů. Tato problematika potřebuje další výzkumy a informace o negativních vlivech toxických chemikálií na faunu a flóru.

Abstract:

Pesticide residues that have leaked from nearby field are occasionally detected in freshwater ecosystems. These pesticides can have a negative effect on freshwater fauna and flora. Invertebrate communities are highly susceptible to changes in the chemical properties of water, and they also accumulate various substances in their bodies, including pesticides. More frequent use of pesticides causes the degradation of suitable habitats for invertebrate populations. The most endangered life stage of an insect is the larva, which is closest in contact with pesticides in the aquatic environment. Nanopesticides, which have recently begun to be used, may have a less negative impact on organisms, but little is known about their effects on organisms. The practical part of this bachelor's thesis deals with the detection of acetamipride, lambda-cyhalothrin, and indoxacarb from selected locations using the liquid chromatography method. The results showed no signs of pesticides found in the selected locations. It is necessary to continue monitoring pesticides in surface waters to see how much influence the pesticides have on organisms and to invent an alternative using less toxic pesticides. This issue needs further research and information on the negative effects of toxic chemicals on fauna and flora.
