Abstract:

Téma dekolonizace britské střední Afriky je zajímavé, protože se tady Velká Británie snažila o vytvoření federace, která však nedopadla úspěšně. Federace se rozpadla na dva černošské státy a jeden, kterému vládla bělošská menšina, kde moc nakonec převzal v roce 1980 Robert Mugabe, který se stal premiérem a později i prezidentem Jižní Rhodesie, ze které se později stalo Zimbabwe. Po první světové válce začínal v koloniích růst odpor proti britské nadvládě a po druhé světové válce už nemohlo Spojené království kolonie udržet. Cílem předkládané práce je zmapování a průběh dekolonizace Středoafrické federace a naznačení dalšího vývoje samostatných států. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část je věnována všeobecné charakteristice britského kolonialismu. Druhá část je věnována pronikání Velké Británie do vnitrozemí jižní Afriky. V třetí časti se zabývám vznikem a rozpadem Středoafrické federace. Cílem předkládané práce je zmapování a průběh dekolonizace Středoafrické federace a naznačení dalšího vývoje samostatných států. Svoji práci rozdělím do tří základních částí. V závěru je zhodnocen průběh dekolonizace Středoafrické federace a to, jak se v kontextu dekolonizace stýty vyvíjejí dodnes.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on decolonization of the British Central Africa and its problems. The topic is worth academic attention due to controversial attempts of the United Kingdom in the region. After the First World War the resistance in colonies against the British rule began to grow and after the Second World War the United Kingdom could not hold the colonies together anymore. After the Second World War the United Kingdom tried to create a federation in the region, but the attempt turned out as unsuccessful. The Central African Federation broke up into three states ? Rhodesia, Republic of Zambia and Republic of Malawi. Republic of Zambia and Republic of Malawi were ruled by the native inhabitants and Rhodesia was ruled by the white minority. In 1980 the native inhabitants took power in Rhodesia. The aim of this thesis is to map the process of decolonization of the Central African Federation and the indication of further development of independent states. The bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. The first part of the text is focused on the general characteristics of colonialism and the characteristics of the British colonialism. In the second part the British attempts in the territory of South Africa were pursued. And the third part of the text dealt with the formation of the Central African Federation. In the end, there can be found an evaluation of the course of decolonization and how states are evolving today in the context of decolonization.
