Analysis of safe environment at primary school

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou bezpečného prostředí a ochrany zdraví žáků se zaměřením na I. stupeň základní školy. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se zabývá úrazovostí dětí a představuje mezinárodní projekt Bezpečná škola. Pro usnadnění realizace tohoto projektu na českých školách přináší tato práce souhrn instrukcí, jež je vytvořený na základě indikátorů a kritérií projektu a opřený o platnou legislativu a kurikulární dokumenty České republiky. V praktické části je tento program realizován na konkrétní základní škole v centru Brna. Šetření se zaměřuje na oblast školských dokumentů (konkrétně knihy úrazů, traumatologického plánu a školního vzdělávacího programu), které jsou analyzovány, a informovanost pedagogických pracovníků v oblasti laické první pomoci, která je zkoumána pomocí dotazníku. V závěru jsou výsledky výzkumu shrnuty a navrženy konkrétní kroky pro zlepšení situace. Po jejich naplnění bude škola o krok blíže k zapojení se do sítě Bezpečných škol.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of the safe environment and the protection of pupils’ health, with the focus on primary school. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the injuries of children and introduces the international programme “Safe School.” To facilitate the implementation of this project in Czech schools, this thesis provides a summary of the instructions, which was based on the indicators and the criteria of the project and it is supported by the current legislation and the curriculum documents of the Czech Republic. In the practical part, this project is implemented in a specific primary school in the centre of Brno. The investigation focuses on the area of school documents (namely injury books, trauma plan and school curriculum), which are analysed, and then on the awareness of the teachers in the field of basic first aid, this being analysed via a questionnaire. In conclusion, the research results are summarised and specific steps for improving the situation are proposed. After those steps are undertaken, the school is going to be one step closer to joining the “Safe Schools” network.
