The Authority of the Teacher through the Eyes of the Students of the Last Year of the Vocational High School

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci je zpracováno téma autority učitele v kontextu střední odborné školy. Cílem teoretické části je definice autority, její obecná charakteristika, rozdělení autority na přirozenou a formální, vysvětlení hlavních rozdílů, objasnění pojmu kritika autority, pohled na autoritu z hlediska sociálního, na základě typů legitimní moci (racionální, tradiční a charismatická). Dále pak popis autority, kterou by měl mít učitel obecně. Metody, které byly použity pro zpracování teoretické části, jsou analýza, srovnání a syntéza poznatků, které vyplynuly ze studia odborných literárních zdrojů.Cílem praktické části bakalářské práce je zjistit preference žáků ve smyslu vlastností učitele, tak, aby ho respektovali a považovali za přirozenou autoritu. Co jim vůbec říká pojem autorita a co si pod ním představují. Jaký typ učitele žákům vyhovuje. Použita byla dotazníková metoda. Nástrojem sběru dat byl dotazník, vytvořený pro účely průzkumu. Respondenty byli žáci posledních ročníků střední odborné školy.

Abstract:

The thesis elaborates on the topic of the teacher´s authority in the context of vocational high school. The theoretical component aims to describe the definition of authority, its general characteristics, division of natural and normal forms of authority and explanation of the main differences. It clarifies the term authority criticism and social view of the authority based on the types of legitimate powers (regional, traditional and charismatic). It also describes the authority a teacher should generally have. The three methods used to elaborate on the theoretical component were analysis, comparison and synthesis of findings, which emerged from the study of specialised literature review.The practical component of the thesis aims to determine students´ preferences in terms of teacher´s qualities that students respect and accept as natural authority. How students understand the term authority and what it means to them. The type of teacher they prefer. A questionnaire method was used. The data was collated through responses to questions in the questionnaire created for the purpose of this research. Respondents were the final year students of vocational high school.
