Stress Test of Financial Stability of Selected Banks

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce je vyhodnotit kapitálovou přiměřenost vybraných bank z Česka a zahraničí a na základě stress testu určit jejich stabilitu. Teoretická část definuje finanční stabilitu a popisuje vývoj bankovní regulace včetně metodiky stress testu. Následují tři vybrané studie, které byly podstatné pro tvorbu práce. Praktická část obsahuje seznam vybraných makroekonomických ukazatelů a ukazatelů z účetních dat bank. Představeny jsou také vybrané zátěžové scénáře. Následují výsledné predikce čistého zisku a kapitálu, napřed jednotlivých bank, a poté souhrnně za oba zvolené bankovní sektory.

Abstract:

The main objective of the work is to evaluate the capital adequacy of selected banks from the Czech Republic and abroad and determine their stability based on stress testing. The theoretical part defines financial stability and describes the development of banking regulation, including stress test methodology. This is followed by three selected studies that were essential for the development of the work. The practical part includes a list of selected macroeconomic variables and variables from bank accounting data. Selected stress scenarios are also presented. The resulting predictions of net profit and capital are then provided, first for individual banks, and then collectively for both selected banking sectors.
