The purpose of this Bachelor thesis is to examine the use of past tenses in the corpus of articles drawn from the French press. The aim was to observe the past tenses repertory of different authors in their writings to evaluate whether the tenses are used in accordance with the grammar rules mentioned in the French grammar books.
