Use of criminalistics in police practice

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Využití kriminalistiky v policejní praxi" se zabývá analýzou významných kriminalistických metod, které jsou aplikovány příslušníky Policie České republiky. Cílem práce je komplexní rozbor fungování Policie ČR s důrazem na vymezení a popis vybraných kriminalistických technik používaných policisty v rámci jejich profesní činnosti za účelem odhalování a objasňování trestných činů. Práce dále zahrnuje charakteristiku významných osobností, které formovaly historii kriminalistiky. Klíčovou roli v tomto ohledu hraje služební profese Policie ČR, přičemž bakalářská práce podrobně rozpracovává většinu jednotlivých služebních činností policistů. Kriminalistická část se zaměřuje na dvě stěžejní forenzní disciplíny, daktyloskopii a trasologii, které jsou úzce spjaty s policejní praxí. Nezbytnou součástí forenzních věd je ohledání místa činu, úkon nezbytný pro zajišťování stop, identifikaci pachatele a následné objasnění trestného činu. Pro doplnění informací o kriminalistických metodách a poznatcích z praxe byl k tématu využití kriminalistiky v policejní praxi realizován rozhovor s bývalým kriminalistou.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis "Use of criminology in police practice" deals with the analysis of important criminological methods that are applied by members of the Police of the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is a comprehensive analysis of the functioning of the Police of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on the definition and description of selected forensic techniques used by police officers in their professional activities for the purpose of detecting and clarifying crimes. The work also includes the characteristics of important personalities who shaped the history of criminology. The service profession of the Police of the Czech Republic plays a key role in this regard, while the bachelor's thesis elaborates in detail most of the individual service activities of police officers. The forensic part focuses on two key forensic disciplines, dactyloscopy and trasology, which are closely related to police practice. An essential part of forensic science is the examination of the scene of the crime, an act necessary for securing traces, identifying the perpetrator and subsequently clarifying the crime. In order to supplement the information on criminology methods and knowledge from practice, an interview with a former criminologist was carried out on the topic of the use of criminology in police practice.
