Diplomová práce se zabývá vybranými tématy z ontologie a epistemologie amerického filosofa W. V. O. Quina s ohledem na jeho inspirační myšlenkové zdroje. Představeny jsou tři hlavní filosofické směry, které nejvíce ovlivnily Quinovu filosofii: francouzský konvencionalismus, americký pragmatismus a logický pozitivismus. The thesis deals with selected topics of ontology and epistemology of the American philosopher W. V. O. Quine with respect to its intellectual sources of inspiration. Presents three main philosophical trends that most influenced Quine's philosophy: French conventionalism, American pragmatism and logical positivism.
