P: Same, but different

Abstract:

Fotografie má moc. Moc okamžiku. Podíváte se a váš oční vjem vyvolá pocit. Následuje proces utváření názoru a vyhodnocení. Váš vlastní pohled na věc je “vyhotoven”. Odcházíte. Jaký pocit jste si odnesli a jaký názor jste si vytvořili? Současná společnost je založena na estetickém soudu. Módní magazíny udávají trend. Vidíme neskutečnou krásu a dokonalost, která nás ovlivňuje, i když ne vždy odpovídá realitě. Zobrazení lidí vybočujících ze společnosti ve světle, které není společností na první dobrou akceptovatelné, podporuje strach a obavy. Často přichází lítost a člověk neví, jaký postoj má zaujmout. Postupně si označí tuto skupinu jako jemu vzdálenou a přestane se o ni zajímat. Ale první dojem, ať už osobní, nebo utvářený z obrazového materiálu, je možné změnit. Svojí prací a sérií fotografií jsem chtěla ukázat, že zdravotně postižení lidé mají ve svém životě stejné potřeby a touhy jako ti zdraví. Být krásní.

Abstract:

Photography has power. Power of the present moment. You look and your eyes give you a feeling. It continues with process of creating you opinion and evaluation. Your own point of view is created. You leave. What feeling did you bring and what opinion did you make? Nowdays society is based on estethical judgement. Fashion magazines give you the “trend”. We see the sureal beauty and perfection which influence us. Showing people, who do not belong to the major society, in the way we do not accept at the first sight, supports fear and doubts. There always comes pity and we do not know what attitude should be assumed. Later on we mark this group as non comprehensible and we stop to take care abou it. But the first sight, either personal or created of picture material, is possible to change. With my theoretical work and the series of photographs I wanted to show that disabled people have got the same needs and desires as the healthy ones. To be beautiful.
