Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice řízení rizik v pojišťovnictví. Vymezuje pojmy jako riziko, jeho dělení a měření. Následně je v práci zpracován pojem risk management. Konkrétně je pozornost věnována jednotlivým možnostem řízení, měření a snižování jednotlivých druhů rizik.
