Medieval Chartes from the 13th to 15th Century in Cartulary of Monastery in Želiv

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá kopiářem želivského kláštera, který obsahuje dvaatřicet listin opsaných dvěma písaři na konci 15. století. Tento kopiář obsahuje přepisy privilegií od českých světských i feudálních hodnostářů z let 1233-1493. Hlavní cílem práce bylo zhodnotit práci písařů – jak spolehlivě se jim podařilo opsat originály listin – a upozornit na místa, kde se texty lišily. Dále práce obsahuje popis a datování vazby kopiáře a dále určení důvodu jeho vzniku. Kopiář želivského kláštera je v současné době uložen v Národním archivu v Praze. Práce je doplněna obrazovou přílohou na CD.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis includes an edition of thirty-two chartes transcribed by two scribes in the cartulary of the monastery in Želiv at the end of the 15th century. The cartulary contains transcriptions of original documents relating to the foundation, privileges, and legal rights of Czech kings, Margraves of Moravia, ecclesiastical dignitaries, Reeves of Jihlava and others from AD 1233-1493. The primary objective was the study of scribes´s work - how realibly he trancribed originals and what type of mistakes he made. The thesis is also about the bookbinding period and the reason for the creation of the cartulary. The cartulary is deposited in the National Archive in Prague. The thesis is supplemented with a picture appendix on CD.
