Bacteriocinogeny in pathogenic and commensal Escherichia coli strains
Abstract:
Produkce bakteriocinů (kolicinů a mikrocinů) je významnou vlastností lidských kmenů Escherichia coli. Produkce bakteriocinů byla testována v souboru 2160 komenzálních a patogenních kmenů Escherichia coli. Práce jako první popsala asociaci mezi produkcí bakteriocinů a virulencí kmenů Escherichia coli. Rovněž dva nové typy bakteriocinů byly popsány – nový typ mikrocinu a nový typ kolicinu.
Abstract:
Production of bacteriocins (colicins and microcins) is an important feature of Escherichia coli strains of human origin. Bacteriocin production was tested in the set of 2160 human E. coli strains including commensal and extraintestinal pathogenic and intestinal pathogenic strains.
