Práce se zábýva fenoménem takzvaného Walkman Efektu, který započal úvodem přenosných zařízení k poslechu hudby, a zkoumá jaký toto mělo vliv na kulturu. Zjišťuje, jakým způsobem se podařilo přetvořit kulturu poslechu ze sdílené na osobní a jakým způsobem rozostření těchto hranic ovlivnilo jednotlivce a společnost. Abstract:
The thesis deals with the phenomenon of the Walkman Effect; the introduction of playback music devices and their effect on culture. It explores how they reimagined the culture of listening into a private one and what effect this blurring of boundaries had on the society.
