A Study To The Narrative Art Of An Contemporary Austrian Story-Teller or How The Tradition of Folk And Modern Fairy-Tales Reflects In The Work Of Folke Tegetthoff

Abstract:

The main topic of this study is not only the phenomenon of the contemporary austrian fairy-tale writer and story-teller Folke Tegetthoff, but also the tradition of the folk and modern fairy-tale in general and the study tries to find answers to the following questions: What is actually a fairy-tale? Where lies the hedge between phantasy and reality? What is the fairy-tale good for? Where has the story-telling tradition disappeared? And for whom are the fairy-tales intended and why have they been degraded to childrens literature? Folke Tegetthoff apeared on the modern fairy-tyle writer scene almost thirty years ago. Today he is a world wide recognized author and story-teller and according to the press he passes for a pioneer of the new austrian or german fairy-tale. Tegetthoff has already brought out about thirty books and guested more then thousand times all over the world. Folke Tegetthoff is author, story-teller, initiator and organizer of story-telling festivals. But the purpose of this study is not to present Tegetthoff as a media star. In fact he stands rather apart from the official literary streem. Folke Tegetthoff has been writing indeed also for children, but the focus of his work are fairy-tales for adults. No, it is no phantasy he writes, he is following the primary folk and modern fairy-tale tradition, the tradition of Andersen, Hauff or Wilde. The purpose of this study is by no means a cameo of an artist, but an analysis of a part of Tegetthoffs work from the content and linguistic stylistic aspect. This study deals with the problems of motifs, symbols and allegory in Tegetthoffs texts, with the problems of the fairy-tale and phantastic literature genres, with aetiologic story, with the reflection of the present in Tegetthoffs fairy-tales and with the problems of sexuality and humour. In a special chapter has been discussed the personification of the fairy-tale as a person or figure (as known from Hauff), metaphors by Tegetthoff build also a separate chapter. The main intention of this study was to show, how Tegetthoff copes with the hundreds of years old fairy-tale tradition, what motifs and linguistic devices he applies. The critic analysis of Tegetthoffs work introduces a theoretical part, summarizing the key knowledges of the european fairy-tale research (from the conception of the fairy-tale over the history and typology of the fairy-tale and definition according to other genres to the polemic about the classyfiability of the fairy-tale in the childrens literature fund).

Tato práce se zabývá jak fenoménem současného rakouského pohádkáře a vypravěče Folkeho Tegetthoffa, tak tradicí lidové a umělé pohádky obecně a snaží se nalézt odpovědi na otázky: Co to vlastně je pohádka? Kde leží hranice mezi fantazií a realitou? Jakou funkci plní pohádka? Kam se poděla vypravěčská tradice? I komu jsou pohádky určeny a proč byly degradovány na dětskou literaturu? Folke Tegetthoff se objevil na moderní pohádkářské scéně skoro už před třiceti lety. Dnes je jako autor i vypravěč pohádek celosvětově uznáván a podle tisku platí za průkopníka nové rakouské resp. německé pohádky. Na svém kontě má dosud přes třicet titulů a na tisíc hostování po celém světě. Folke Tegetthoff je spisovatel, vypravěč, iniciátor a organizátor vypravěčských festivalů. Cílem této práce však není představit Tegetthoffa jako mediální hvězdu. Ve skutečnosti vlastně stojí poněkud stranou oficiálního literárního proudu. Folke Tegetthoff píše sice i pro děti, těžištěm jeho tvorby jsou však pohádky pro dospělé. Ne, nejedná se o žádnou fantasy, ale o navázání na původní tradici lidové a umělé pohádky, na tradici Andersena, Hauffa i Wilda. Cílem této práce v žádném případě není umělecký portrét, nýbrž analýza části Tegetthoffovy tvorby z hlediska obsahového i jazykově stylistického. V práci je zohledněna problematika motivů, symboliky a alegorie v Tegetthoffových textech, problematika žánru pohádky a fantastického textu, problematika etiologického vyprávění, problematika odrazu současnosti v Tegetthoffových pohádkách, problematika sexuality i humoru. Zvláštní kapitolu tvoří personifikace pohádky jakožto osoby (jak ji známe např. u Hauffa). Tegetthoffově metaforice je také věnována celá kapitola. Hlavním cílem práce je ukázat, jak se Tegetthoff dokáže vypořádat se staletou tradicí pohádky, s jakými motivy i jazykovými prostředky ve svých textech pracuje. Kritické analýze Tegetthoffovy tvorby předchází teoretická část, v níž jsou na základě evropského výzkumu pohádky shrnuty nejdůležitější poznatky z tohoto oboru (od pojmu POHÁDKA, přes její historii, typologii a vymezení oproti ostatním žánrům až k polemice o zařaditelnosti pohádky do fondu dětské literatury) a která tak tvoří výchozí bázi pro vlastní analýzu.
