Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Bio Art. Je nutné být zeleným?“ pojednává o nové formě uměleckého vyjadřování, jehož podstatou je manipulace s živými organismy nebo vytváření zcela původních živých organismů. Jelikož materiálem jsou formy života na úrovni buněk, proteinů, ale také DNA, tkání, genů aj. organických hmot, vzbuzuje tento fenomén řadu otázek, jimiž se autorka zabývá a sleduje přesahy do oborů, jako je historie, religiozita či etika v zacházení se zvířaty. Práce je cestou za kořeny a předvoji počínání, jež je svou povahou pro společnost velice citlivé. Sleduje potenciální přínos i újmu tvorby, kde se spřáhla věda s uměním, představuje přední zástupce současné umělecké scény ve světě i České republice, festivaly prezentující tvorbu těchto novodobých inženýrů života, a to celé na pozadí proměnlivosti vztahu člověka k přírodě dobově napříč.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis ‘Bio Art. Is It Necessary To Be Green?’ deals with a new form of art expression. The basis of this new expression is manipulation with living organisms or creation of completely original living organisms. This phenomenon raises many questions as different forms of life at the level of cells, proteins but also DNA, tissues, genes and other organic substances are the material for this art. The author of this work deals with these questions and follows the links to areas such as history, religion or ethics of treating the animals. This work is a way to the roots and the vanguard of doings that are in their nature very sensitive for the society. It follows potential benefits and damages of art where science and art are interconnected. It also introduces prominent representatives of contemporary art scene both in the world and the Czech Republic, festivals presenting the work of these modern life engineers. All this is dealt with on the background of the changing relationship between man and nature throughout the time.
