The double look. Narratological analyzes of some texts by Thomas Mann
Abstract:
This thesis tries to deal with the motive of double look in work of Thomas Mann. The chosen books are novels Lotte in Weimar, Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull, short stories Tonio Kröger and Die Hungernden. Thesis will show on those four storytelling books, that one has to be always alerted, if one understands the telling of Thomas Mann correctly.
Abstract:
Diese Arbeit behandelt das Motiv der doppelten Optik im Werk von Thomas Mann. Die ausgewählten Romane sind Lotte in Weimar, Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull, die Erzählungen Tonio Kröger und Die Hungernden. An diesen vier Erzählwerken wird gezeigt, dass man als der Leser von Thomas Manns Erzählen immer zweimal lesen muss, um zu überprüfen, ob man wirklich die richtige Meinung begriffen hat …more
