Perception of workload, mental resistivity and meaning of work at primary school teachers.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá pracovní zátěží, psychickou odolností a smyslem práce učitelů základních škol, přičemž náš výzkum je zaměřen na učitele konkrétně 1. stupně ZŠ. Hlavním cílem práce je najít souvislosti mezi těmito třemi proměnnými, případně zda dané proměnné souvisí i s věkem, délkou působení v učitelské profesi nebo zda souvisí smysl práce s vnímáním důležitosti své profese. K dosažení vytyčených cílů byly stanoveny 4 výzkumné otázky. Potřebná data byla sbírána pomocí baterie dotazníku Sense of Coherence a dvou inventářů - The Work and Meaning Inventory a Inventář percepce pracovní zátěže. Výzkumný vzorek tvoří 100 učitelů 1. stupně havířovských základních škol. Významná souvislost byla zjištěna mezi percepcí pracovní zátěže a psychickou odolností, mezi percepcí pracovní zátěže a smyslem práce, dále mezi percepcí pracovní zátěže a smysluplností (meaningfulness) a mezi smyslem práce a srozumitelností (comprehensibility). Největší souvislost byla objevena mezi vnímáním důležitosti své profese a smyslem práce.

Abstract:

This work focuses on the workload, mental resilience and the meaning of the work of primary school teachers, while our research will focus on first-grade teachers at primary school. The main aim of the thesis is to find out the connections between these three variables and to find out whether the variables are related to the age or length of the respondents' or whether the meaning of work is related to the perception of importance of their profession. Four research questions have been set to achieve the set goals. The necessary data was collected using a battery of the Sense of Coherence Questionnaire, The Work and Meaning Inventory and the Workload Perception Inventory. The research sample consists of 100 teachers of primary schools in Havirov. A significant link was found between the perception of workload and mental resilience and between the perception of workload and the meaning of work. Other contexts were found between the perception of workload and meaningfulness and between the meaning of work and comprehensibility. The greatest connection was discovered between the perception of importance of their profession and the meaning of work.
