Hudební skladatel, teoretik, pedagog a publicista Ctirad Kohoutek patří mezi významné skladatele české hudby druhé poloviny 20. století. Jeho hudební i literární dílo je známé všem studentům hudební teorie. Moderní hudební metody využil i při kompozici pro dětské pěvecké sbory a kromě toho také zasáhl do textové složky svých skladeb. Composer, theoritician, pedagogue and publicist Ctirad Kohoutek is regarded to be one of the most important Czech composers of the second half of the 20th century. His works have become well known to all students of music theory.
