Behavioral Economics and Environmental Sustainability: the Case of the Waste Management System

Anotace:

This thesis project aims to examine how behavioural economics could inform sustainable and environmental policies, in particular the policies targeting the waste management system. Methods and results: 1) Review of the literature about ecological economics and behavioural economics and the comparison with the standard economic theories. 2) Conduction of a survey to investigate the relationship between behavioural aspects, public policies and actual pro-environmental behaviour. 3) This study contributes to the improvement of the theoretical system that models the interaction between behavioural elements and environmental policies.
