A revision of the distribution and health status of the sweet chestnut Castanea sativa at TFE Křtiny

Abstract:

V letech 1999, 2004 a 2006 bylo na polesí Vranov Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny vysázeno 151 jedinců kaštanovníku jedlého (Castanea sativa Mill.). Byla provedena revize těchto výsadeb na 23 lokalitách. Byly sledovány fenologické fáze jako rašení a kvetení. Byl sledován a hodnocen zdravotní stav. V rámci sledování byl kladen důraz na výskyt houbových chorob a škůdců. Houbové choroby ani škůdci ovšem nebyli pozorováni. Byly také zaznamenány dendrometrické charakteristiky. Byly odebrány plody kaštanovník pro měření parametrů a sledování výskytu houbových organismů. Celkově bylo poškozeno 28,48 % kaštanovníků. Uhynulo 6 stromů, což tvoří cca 4 % ze všech sledovaných jedinců. Bylo navrhnuto další využití kaštanovníku na polesí Vranov.

Abstract:

In the years 1999, 2004 and 2006, 151 sweet chestnut trees (Castanea sativa Mill.) were planted in the forest district Vranov of TFE Křtiny. A revision of these plantings was conducted at 23 locations. Phenological phases such as sprouting and flowering were monitored. Health status was monitored and evaluated. As part of the monitoring, emphasis was placed on the occurrence of fungal diseases and pests. However, no fungal diseases or pests were discovered. Dendrometric characteristics were also recorded. Chestnut fruits were taken to measure parameters and monitor the occurrence of fungal organisms. Overall, 28.48 % of chestnut trees were damaged. Six trees died, which is about 4 % of all monitored individuals. Another use of the chestnut tree in forest district the Vranov was proposed.
