Logical Structures and Comprehensibility of the Text

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis deals with text comprehensibility depending on selected aspects of text structure. In the theoretical part, concepts of text comprehensibility and optimisation strategies related thereto are systematised. Further, problems of text structure and its possible concepts are assessed. At the same time, attention is focused mainly on the phenomenon of so-called logical text structures, which refer to a heterogeneous group of linguistic and typographic means used to highlight text structuring. In the empirical part of the thesis, the occurrence of selected comprehensibility factors in technical and popular science texts is compared using a method of linguistic analysis on examples of texts with a biological subject. By means of a method of natural educational experiment, the relevance of selected logical text structures to text comprehensibility is explored considering a student of German as a foreign language.

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá srozumitelností textu v závislosti na vybraných aspektech textové struktury. V teoretické části jsou systematizovány koncepty textové srozumitelnosti a na ně navazující optimalizační strategie. Dále je bilancována problematika textové struktury a její možná pojetí. Pozornost je přitom zaměřena především na fenomén tzv. logických textových struktur, které označují heterogenní skupinu jazykových a typografických prostředků sloužících ke zvýraznění strukturace textu. V empirické části práce je s využitím metody lingvistické analýzy srovnáván výskyt vybraných faktorů srozumitelnosti v odborných a populárně-vědeckých textech na příkladech textů s biologickou tematikou. Pomocí metody přirozeného výukového experimentu je zkoumána relevance vybraných logických textových struktur pro srozumitelnost textu s ohledem na studenta němčiny jako cizího jazyka.
