The Manifestations of Narcissism at Secondary School

Abstract:

Primárním cílem této práce je popis projevů kulturního narcismu u vybraných skupin žáků druhého stupně základní školy, se kterými autorka v současnosti pedagogicky pracuje. Práce tak analyzuje dopad narcistní povahy na vzdělávací proces těchto konkrétních žáků. K samotnému šetření byl vytvořen dotazník inspirovaný již uskutečněnými zahraničnými výzkumy, na které se práce odvolává. Samotnému šetření proto nutně předchází několik teoretických kapitol, které pojednávají jak o fenoménech postmoderní doby, příčinách vzniku narcimu, výskytu narcismu ve školním či následném pracovním prostředí, tak i  v neposlední řade seznamuje čtenáře právě se škálou realizovaných výzkumů americké provenience. Závěr práce pak přináší interpretaci předložených informací, srovnává projevy narcistické poruchy v českém a americkém prostředí a naznačuje cestu k případným navazujícím výzkumům.

Abstract:

The primary goal of this work is to describe the manifestations of cultural narcissism in selected groups of pupils in the second stage of primary school, with whom the author is currently working pedagogically. The work analyzes the impact of the narcissistic nature on the educational process of these specific pupils. A questionnaire was created for the survey itself, inspired by already conducted foreign research, to which the work refers. Therefore, the survey itself is necessarily preceded by several theoretical chapters, which deal with the phenomena of postmodern Era, the causes of narcissism, narcissism in the school or subsequent work environment, and last but not least acquaints the reader with a range of research of American origin. The conclusion of the thesis then brings the interpretation of the presented information, compares the manifestations of narcissistic disorder in the Czech and American environment and indicates the way for possible follow-up research.
