The use of calculation of the coefficient of energy balance in the investigation of cerebrospinal fluid to determine the type of inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím koeficientu energetické bilance, nového parametru v diagnostice zánětlivých onemocnění CNS. Teorie je zaměřena na likvorologii, energetický metabolismus a neuroinfekce. Praktická část popisuje základy cytologie a biochemická vyšetření, jež jsou nezbytná pro výpočet koeficientu. Statistické hodnocení vychází ze sběru dat na Oddělení klinické biochemie FN Brno. Výsledky testů dokazují, že je koeficient spolehlivým parametrem s vysokou senzitivitou (92,9 %) a specifitou (95,5 %).

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the use of the coefficient of energy balance, the new parameter in the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of the CNS. The theory focuses on liquorology, energy metabolism and neuroinfections. The practical part describes the basics of cytology and biochemical tests, which are necessary to calculate the coefficient. Statistical evaluation is based on data collection at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, University Hospital Brno. The test results show the coefficient as a reliable parameter with high sensitivity (92.9 %) and specificity (95.5 %).
