A proposal of a communication mix to strengthen internationalization at J. E. Purkyně University

Abstract:

Rozvoj internacionálního prostředí na UJEP je jedním ze základních poslání univerzity, bohužel stav zde není ideální a dlouhodobě se nelepší. Jedním z cílů, které si UJEP stanovila, je propagace studijních programů v cizím jazyce. Bylo navrženo několik opatření, která by měla zahraniční studenty přilákat. Cílem práce je ověřit, zda opatření odpovídají potřebám studentů, a najít oblasti, na které by se UJEP měla zaměřit, např. image značky hostitelského státu, kvalitu komunikačních kanálů, nabídku studijních programů a cenu. Tato diplomová práce je případovou studií, ve které proběhl výzkum formou dotazníkového šetření na středoškolských studentech z Kataru. Názory studentů jsou hodnoceny pomocí Likertovy škály a výsledky zpracovány frekvenční analýzou. Pro porovnání několika výběrů jsou použity neparametrické testy jako Friedmanův test s následnou post hoc analýzou a intervaly spolehlivosti. Výsledky slouží jako podklad pro návrh komunikačního mixu pro posílení internacionalizace na UJEP.

Abstract:

The development of the international environment at UJEP is one of the essential missions of the University. Unfortunately, the situation there is not ideal and is not improving in the long term. One of the objectives is the promotion of study programmes in a foreign languages. Several measures have been proposed to attract foreign students. The aim of this thesis is to verify whether the proposed measures respond to the needs of foreign students and to find areas that the university should focus, as the host country's brand image, the quality of the communication channels, the offer of study programmes and the price. This thesis is a case study that conducted research through a survey questionnaire on high school students in Qatar. The students' opinions are evaluated using Likert scale and the results are processed by frequency analysis. Non-parametric tests such as Friedman's test followed by post hoc analysis are used for multiple choice comparisons and confidence intervals were also used. The results serve as a basis for the proposal of a communication mix to strengthen the internationalization at UJEP.
