Conservative Socialism and the ČSSD

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit roli konzervativního socialismu v programatice, ideologických debatách a dalších prezentacích ČSSD (SOCDEM). Práce bude zaměřena nejen do oblasti politické teorie, ale také do výzkumu programatiky ČSSD (SOCDEM). V první části práce budou definována základní teoretická východiska, s nimiž se v textu bude pracovat. Půjde primárně o pojmy levice, sociáldemokratismus a konzervatismus. Následně bude pozornost zaměřena na samotný pojem konzervativní socialismus, na jeho podoby a zejména na to, jak tento pojem od roku 2020 v českém prostředí formují Petr Drulák a Jan Keller. V další části práce pak půjde o to, jakou úlohu sehrál konzervativní socialismus v rámci ČSSD (SOCDEM). Za tímto účelem je provedena obsahová analýza jednak dokumentů strany, jednak dalších veřejných prezentací a ideologických debat (sociální sítě, články, debaty apod.) představitelů strany.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to find out the role of conservative socialism in the programming, ideological debates and other presentations of the ČSSD (SOCDEM). The work will be focused in the field of political theory, but also in the research of ČSSD programmatics (SOCDEM). In the first part of the thesis, the basic theoretical starting points that will be used in the text will be defined. It will primarily be about the concepts of the left, social democracy and conservatism. Subsequently, attention will be focused on the concept of conservative socialism itself, on its forms and especially on how P. Drulák and J. Keller shape this concept in the Czech environment from 2020. The next part of the work will then discuss what role conservative socialism played within the ČSSD (SOCDEM). For this purpose, a content analysis of the party's documents, but also of other public presentations and ideological debates (social networks, articles, debates, etc.) of its representatives is carried out.
