Analysis of COVID-19 impacts by BSC optics

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou dopadu nemoci COVID-19 na činnost podniku optikou Balanced Scorecard. Cílem práce je zodpovězení výzkumné otázky, která se dotazuje na dopad pandemického období na výkonnost podniku CE Colo, který je poskytovatel služeb nezávislých datových center ve střední Evropě. Práce je rozdělena na dvě klíčové části. Teoretická část obsahuje teoretické východisko pro pochopení koncepce Balanced Scorecard a dalších základních pojmů, které se k této problematice bezprostředně vážou. Praktická část analyzuje a popisuje pandemickou situaci a podnik z hlediska jednotlivých perspektiv a vztahu k okolí podniku. Dále jsou identifikovány a analyzovány hlavní dopady koronaviru na činnost podniku pohledem strategických perspektiv. Na závěr praktické části je provedena analýza a zhodnocení, jak společnost prošla pandemickým obdobím včetně odhadovaných dopadů na výkonnost a klíčové ukazatele výkonnosti.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 disease on the company's operations through the lens of the Balanced Scorecard. The aim of the thesis is to answer a hypothesis that asks about the impact of the pandemic period on the performance of CE Colo, a provider of independent data center services in Central Europe. The theoretical part contains the theoretical basis for a proper understanding of the Balanced Scorecard concept and other basic concepts that are directly related to this issue. The practical part analyses and describes the pandemic situation and the enterprise in terms of individual perspectives and the relationship with the enterprise's environment. Furthermore, the main impacts of the coronavirus on the company's operations are identified and analyzed through the lens of strategic perspectives. The practical part concludes with an analysis and evaluation of how the company has weathered the pandemic period, including the estimated impact on performance and key performance indicators.
