Description of the relationship between parent-child in the life-work of Josef Karel Šlejhar

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou a následnou interpretací vztahů mezi rodiči a dětmi ve vybraných povídkách Josefa Karla Šlejhara. Prostřednictvím rozboru jednotlivých textů s důrazem kladeným na aspekty utvářející dané rodinné prostředí je možné pochopit Šlejharovo ztvárnění různých podob rodičovské lásky. K bližšímu pochopení tohoto vztahu není možné dojít jinak než pomocí detailní interpretace jednotlivých postav, jež ve Šlejharově díle zosobňují rodiče nebo děti. V této práci nemají často užívané protikladné pojmy ?láska? a ?znevýhodnění? obecně platné definice ani předem určené pole působnosti ? Šlejhar je zmiňuje v závislosti na více faktorech a konkrétních situacích, čímž v jednotlivých textech zajímavým způsobem dokazuje, nebo naopak vyvrací existenci rodičovské lásky.

Abstract:

This essay focuses on analysing and subsequently interpreting the relationships between parents and children in several selected stories by Josef Karel Šlejhar. It is possible to understand Šlejhar?s interpretation of the different forms of parental love by means of analysing each text. It is not possible to come to a closer understanding of this relationship without a detailed interpretation of the characters that embody parents or children in Šlejhars work. ?Love? and ?disadvantage? , the two contradictory terms which are often used in this essay, have no generally applicable definitions or a predetermined field of activity here ? Šlejhar mentions them depending on several factors and specific situations, thereby proving or disproving the existence of parental love.
