The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the festivals of light art

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá festivalmi svetelného umenia. Konkrétne Festivalom svetla a tieňa, Signal festivalom a festivalom Biela noc. Jej hlavným cieľom je opísať dopady pandémie koronavírusu na skúmané festivaly. Práca taktiež opisuje programy jednotlivých festivalov a ich kultúrny prínos. Bakalárska práca analyzuje a porovnáva činnosť festivalov v roku 2019 a 2020. Na výskum sú využívané dáta z dotazníkov, v ktorých sa zisťuje dopad na zdroje festivalov a na ľudí podieľajúcich sa na festivaloch. Ďalej čerpá z medializovaných informácií, záverečných správ a webových stránok festivalov.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the festivals of light art. In particular, the Festival of light and shadow, Signal festival and the Festival of White night. Its main goal is to describe the impacts of coronavirus pandemic on the examined festivals. The thesis also describes the programmes of these festivals and their cultural benefits. The bachelor thesis analyses and compares the way how the festivals worked in the year 2019 and 2020. The research is based on the data from questionnaires, in which the impacts on the festival resources and on the people who take part in the festivals are analysed. Moreover, it obtains information from the media, the final reports and web-pages of the festivals.
