The evolution theory of aging predicts that high extrinsic mortality factors (predation) should lead to low probability of surviving and in evolutionary time to a shorter life span of species. The thesis analyzes the relationship between predation and longevity of North American birds by RLQ analysis and fourth-corner algorithm. Evoluční teorie stárnutí předpokládá, že intenzivnější vnější mortalitní faktory (predace) by měly vést k nižší pravděpodobnosti dožití druhu a v evolučním čase ke zkrácení optimální délky života druhu. Práce analyzuje tento vztah mezi predaci a délkou života ptáků Severní Ameriky pomocí RLQ analýzy a algoritmu čtvrtého rohu.
