Relationship between educational style in the family, education of parents, children's academic achievement and attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers - from the perspective of pupils and their parents

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá souvislostí mezi způsobem výchovy v rodině, vzděláním rodičů, školní úspěšností a postoje rodiny vůči škole a učitelům z pohledu dětí a jejich rodičů. Hlavním cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, zda existuje souvislost mezi způsobem výchovy v rodině, vzděláním rodičů, školní úspěšností dítěte a postojem rodiny vůči škole a učitelům z pohledu dětí 7. a 8. tříd základních škol a jejich rodičů. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 106 žáků ve věku 12 – 14 let (57 % dívek a 43 % chlapců) a 106 rodičů (76 % matek a 24 % otců). Postoj rodiny ke škole byl zjišťován pomocí Škály hodnocení postoje rodiny ke škole a k učitelům (Vágnerová & Šimánková, 1993). Na tuto škálu odpovídali rodiče i žáci. Výchovný styl v rodině jsme zkoumali pomocí Dotazníku pro zjišťování způsobu výchovy v rodině (Čáp & Boschek, 1994). Školní úspěšnost žáka byla získána průměrem známek za první pololetí školního roku 2017/2018. V neposlední řadě jsme se zajímali o nejvyšší dosažené vzdělání rodičů. Výsledky ukázaly, že vyšší vzdělání rodičů (matky i otce) má pozitivní vliv na školní úspěšnost dítěte. Ve studii se nám podařilo prokázat spojitost mezi emočním vztahem rodiny a postoji rodiny ke škole a k učitelům z pohledu dítěte. Nalezli jsme statisticky významnou souvislost mezi školní úspěšností dítěte a postojem rodiny ke škole a k učitelům z pohledu dětí i rodičů. Neprokázali jsme vztah mezi školní úspěšností žáka a způsobem výchovy v rodině. Nepodařilo se nám prokázat spojitost mezi výchovným stylem v rodině a vzděláním rodičů. Nenalezli jsme vztah mezi vzděláním rodičů a postojem rodiny ke škole a k učitelům.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the relationship between educational style in the family, education of parents, children's academic achievement and attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers - from the perspective of pupils and their parents. The research was conducted with the aim to determine a correlation between educational style in the family, education of parents, children's academic achievement and attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers - from the perspective of pupils of the seventh and eighth grades of primary school and their parents. The research sample consisted of 106 pupils aged from 12 to 14 years old (57 % girls and 43 % boys) and 106 parents (76 % mothers and 24 % fathers). Attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers were detected by Škála hodnocení postoje rodiny ke škole a k učitelům (Vágnerová & Šimánková, 1993). This scale was asked by parents and pupils. The education style in the family was examined by Dotazník pro zjišťování způsobu výchovy v rodině (Čáp & Boschek, 1994). The children's academic achievement was obtained by the mean of the marks for the first half of the school year 2017/2018. Finally, we were interested in the highest education of parents. The results indicated that the higher education of parents (both of parents) has been associated positive with children's academic achievement. In the study, we have been able to prove the connection between the emotional relationship in the family and attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers - from the perspective of pupils. We have demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between the children's academic achievement and attitudes of the family toward the school and teachers - from the perspective of pupils and their parents. The children´s academic achievement has not showed significant association with the education style in the family. We have not been able to prove the connection between education style in the family and the education of parents. We have not found a relationship between the education of parents and attitudes of the family towards the school and teachers.
