J. Ch. Laidig and his illustrations of Martin von Cochem`s "Goldener Himmels-Schlüssel"

Abstract:

Tématem práce je ikonografický popis ilustrací Zlatého nebeklíče od brněnského rytce Johanna Christopha Laidiga. Úvodní části se zaměřují na osobnost umělce Johanna Christopha Laidiga a autora modlitební knihy Zlatý nebeklíč, kapucínského mnicha Martina von Cochem. Další kapitoly se vztahují k obrazové i textové části Zlatého nebeklíče. Účelem práce je popis ilustrací, souvislostí mezi rytinami a textem, komparace ilustrací v rámci tří vydání Zlatého nebeklíče a zařazení rytin do potridentské ikonografie očistce.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with iconographical description of Goldener Hümmels-Schlüssel´s illustrations by Johann Christoph Laidig. The first part of the thesis contains biographical information about engraver J. Ch. Laidig and Martin von Cochem, the author of the prayer-book known as Goldener Hümmels-Schlüssel. Other parts of the thesis deal with illustrations and texts of "Hümmels-Schlüssel". The aim of the thesis is to describe illustrations, context of picture and text, comparision of engravings from another editions of Hümmel-Schlüssel and connection of engravings with barocque depictions of purgatory.
