Erotization of female figure and its changes

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá proměnami mediální reprezentace mechanismu erotizace ženské figury v lifestylovém časopise Vlasta v letech 1984, 1994 a 2010. Prostřednictvím komparace zvolených ročníků se v ní snažíme identifikovat a porovnat proměny, které nastaly v rámci mediální konstrukce erotizace a sexualizace ženské figury v českém prostředí za uplynulých třicet let. Práci rozdělujeme na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. Teoretická část práce se opírá o teorii sociální konstrukce reality, patriarchální ideologii, feminismus, gender a vymezení ideálních typů pojmu erotika a sexualita. V analytické části využíváme metodu kvantitativní obsahové analýzy doplněnou komplementární metodou kvalitativní diskurzivní analýzy, která umožňuje hlubší průnik do obsahu a významu analyzovaných souborů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the changes in the media representations of mechanism of erotic female figures in czech lifestyle magazine Vlasta published in 1984, 1994 a 2010. Our aim is to find out if the emphasis on the topic of erotization of the female figure has changed in last thirty years and how are the changes of media representation throughout the years displayed. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical parts. In the theoretical part we operate with the theory of social construction of reality, patriarchal ideology, feminism and gender and the definition of the concept of ideal types of eroticism and sexuality. In the analytical part we use to fulfill our purpose the method of quantitative content analysis and we complete it with complementary qualitative method of discourse analysis, which allows us deeper penetration into the content and meaning of the analyzed files.
