Developing primary learners' listening skills: English textbook evaluation

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, jakým způsobem vybraná učebnice anglického jazyka podporuje rozvoj poslechových dovedností u žáků prvního stupně ZŠ. Teoretická část se zabývá poslechem jako řečovou dovedností ve vztahu ke komunikačním jazykovým kompetencím, dále popíše didaktické prostředky, které lze pro rozvoj této dovednosti ve výuce anglického jazyka používat a zaměří se na učebnice a jejich hodnocení. V praktické části je proveden výzkum, jehož cílem je zhodnotit jakým způsobem učebnice a její aktivity rozvijí poslech s porozuměním. Výzkum je proveden na základě kritérií stanovených v teoretické části.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out how a selected English textbook supports the development of listening skills in primary school learners. The theoretical part deals with listening as a language skill in relation to communication language competences, further describes the didactic aids that can be used to develop these skills in English language teaching and focus on textbooks and their evaluation. In the practical part, research is carried out, the aim of which is to evaluate how the textbook and its activities develop listening comprehension. The research is carried out on the basis of the criteria set out in the theoretical part.
