Organ transplantation in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the general public and health professionals

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce komplexně přibližuje problematiku transplantace orgánů lidského těla. Je rozdělená na teoretickou část a část výzkumnou. Zabývá se tématikou transplantace orgánů v České republice a ve světě. Teoretická část pojednává o dárcovství, kategorizaci dárců, etické a právní problematice transplantace. Dále se zabývá organizací odběrů orgánů, uvádí přehled transplantačních center v České republice a hlavními parametry transplantační legislativy. Vysvětluje pravidla pro alokaci orgánů, stanovení smrti dárce a funkci čekací listiny. Cílem praktické části je zjistit informovanost laické veřejnosti a zdravotníků. Za pomocí analýzy získaných dat, kategorizovat společnost do autorem vytvořených kategorii (odpůrců a příznivců). V praktické části jsou především zjišťovány rozdílné postoje a názory laiků a zdravotníků na transplantaci orgánů a dárcovství orgánů. Výzkumnou metodou je dotazník. Formou vyhodnocení je graf následné shrnutí otázky, jak pro laickou veřejnost, tak zvlášť pak pro zdravotníky

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with issues related to organ transplantation and is divided into two parts: theory and research. The topic of organ transplantation is explored both in the Czech Republic and globally. The theoretical part deals with issues of organ donation, how the donors are categorized and the legal and ethical issues of transplantation. It also explores the organization of organ collection, provides an overview of transplantation centers in Czech Republic and the main policies of transplant laws. Furthermore, it explains the process of allocating organs, determining the death of donors and the function of a waiting list. The goal of the practical part is to measure the awareness of health professionals as well as the general public. The participants of the analysis will be divided into groups created by the author (e.g. opponents and supporters of organ transplantation). The practical part focuses mainly on the different outlooks and opinions of both health professionals and laymen on organ transplantation and organ donation. The research method employed is a questionnaire.The data gathered is displayed in the form of a graph, followed by question summary for both the general public and health professionals.
