Problem of free will in philosophy of Immanuel Kant

Abstract:

Práce představuje jeden z možných přístupů ke stále aktuální a ne pouze filosofické otázce svobodné vůle člověka. Tímto přístupem je filosofie Immanuela Kanta, který ve svých dílech popsal, jak problematická pro rozum tato otázka je. Poskytl však také řešení, ve kterém může koexistovat svobodná vůle člověka i s nutností přírodních zákonů. Výchozími díly je Kritika čistého rozumu, ve které Kant rozebírá, jak se může s pojmem svobody a vypořádat čistý spekulativní rozum a Kritika praktického rozumu, ve které najdeme argumentaci o svobodné vůli v souvislosti s morálkou. Na pojetí morálky je kladen značný důraz, jelikož poznatky z této oblasti jsou podstatné jak pro Kantovo řešení, tak pro otázku svobodné vůle. Diskutována je také otázka subjektu a jeho sebevědomí v autorově transcendentální filosofii. Cílem práce je demonstrovat jedinečnost Kantova řešení, které postuluje racionální víru ve svobodnou vůli a ukázat jeho nadčasové prvky v porovnání se současnými vědeckými poznatky a deterministickou etikou.

Abstract:

This work presents one of the possible approaches to still topical and not only philosophical question of free will of man. This approach is the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, who described in his works how this question is problematic for reason. However, he also provided a solution in which free will of man can coexist with the necessity of natural laws. The initial works are Critique of Pure Reason in which Kant discusses, how can deal pure speculative reason with the concept of freedom and Critique of Practical Reason in which we find the argument about free will in relation to morality. Considerable emphasis is laid on the concept of morality, since findings of this area are essential both for Kant's solution and for the question of free will. Question of the subject and its self-confidence in the author's transcendental philosophy is also discussed. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the uniqueness of Kant's solution, which postulates a rational belief in free will and to show its timeless elements in comparison with current scientific knowledge and deterministic ethics.
