Smart Tourist: Use of smartphone while traveling and influence of (not)ownership of decision-making on traveling to unknown places

Abstract:

Záměrem této bakalářské práce bylo v teoretické části přiblížit, co je to cestovní ruch, smartphone, socio-technologický kontext, jaké jsou dopady smartphonu na cestovní ruch, využití smartphonu při cestě jako celku a využití smartphonu při cestování mezi seniory. Teoretická́ část práce by měla sloužit i jako určitý́ úvod k praktické části, umožňující lepší představu a lepší pochopení celé pro-blematiky, kterou se zabývá praktická́ část.Praktická část práce je zaměřená primárně na ověření hypotézy, že mobilní technologie mění neznámý prostor (v podobě turistické destinace) na familiár-ní místo a vedou tak ke změně chování či preferencí turistů, čímž ovlivňují i management cestovního ruchu jako takový. A dále na zjištění, zda a do jaké míry ovlivňuje turisty při rozhodování o vycestování do zahraničí (za účelem turistiky) vlastnictví chytrého telefonu a zda (popřípadě jaký) má chytrý tele-fon a jeho aplikace (především ty geolokační, informační ale i gamifikované) vliv na jejich chování při cestování, tedy na jejich aktuální volby a prožívání ne-známého prostoru.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to explain in the theoretical part what is tourism, smartphone, socio-technological context, what are the effects of smartphone on tourism, use of smartphone when traveling as a whole and use of smartphone when traveling between seniors. The theoretical part of the thesis should also serve as an introduction to the practical part, allowing a better idea and a better understanding of the whole problem, which is dealt with in the practical part.The practical part of the thesis is focused primarily on the hypothesis that mobile technology changes an unknown space (in the form of a tourist destination) into a familial place and thus leads to a change in the behavior or preferences of tourists, thus also affecting tourism management as such. Furthermore, to determine whether and to what extent it affects tourists when deciding to travel abroad (for the purpose of tourism) possession of a smartphone and whether (or what) has a smart phone and its applications (especially geolocation, information but also gamification) affect their travel behavior, that is, their current choices and experience the un-known space.
