Odor traces – development of an identification method

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje kriminalistické odorologii. V úvodu vysvětluje základní pojmy oboru a přibližuje jeho historii. Následující část práce rozebírá pach, jeho původ a vlastnosti. Hlavní část práce přibližuje problematiku pachových stop, jejich vznik, vyhledávání a zajišťování. Práce pokračuje představením kriminalis¬tické odorologie a metod, kterých využívá ke zkoumání pachových stop. Následující část se zaměřuje na speciální vycvičené služební psy, na jejich výchovu, výcvik, výběr vhodných plemen a použití při pachové identifikaci. Závěr práce se věnuje problematice pachových stop jako důkazu v trestním řízení.

Abstract:

This bachelors thesis is dedicated to forensic odorology. In the introduction it explains basics concepts of the field and details about its history. The following part of the thesis analyses scent, its scent and properties. The main part of the thesis approaches the issue of odor traces, their formation, searching and securing. The thesis continues with introduction of forensic odorology and the methods it uses to examine odor traces. The following part focuses on specially trained service dogs, their raising, training and selection of suitable breeds and use in scent identification. The end of the thesis is devoted to problematics of odor traces as evidence in criminal proceedings.
