Contemporary Kyjovsko wedding and changes in its organisation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá organizací svatby v geografickém a etnografickém kontextu, zasazeném do regionu Kyjovsko, který se vyznačuje jedinečnou koncepcí svatební události. Tradice a místní obyčeje určují charakter samotné akce, která je posuzována na základě globálních trendů včetně přijímání nových, z dnešního hlediska již tradičních elementů. V první části práce je shrnuta historie kyjovské svatby. Na základě průzkumu pramenů jsou poté stanoveny základní pilíře. Následný kvalitativní výzkum pomohl spolu s danými aspekty definovat soudobou modelovou svatbu, která zohledňuje nejen samotný scénář akce, ale také všechny organizační prvky včetně rozpočtu. V závěru práce je komparativní metodou sledována proměna kyjovské svatby, jakožto soustavy rituálů včetně nezbytných prvků současnosti.

Abstract:

Annotation This diploma thesis concerns the organisation of a wedding in geographical and ethnographical context both set in the region of Kyjovsko. This region is determined by the unique conception of the wedding event. Traditions and local customs present the character of the event itself. These features are assessed at the basic global trends including acceptation of new elements, which are being considered as traditional ones in a contemporary view. The first part of this thesis summarizes the history of a wedding in the region of Kyjovsko. The basic facts were determined by the exploration of historical sources. Following by the quantitative research together with given aspects they helped to define features of a contemporary wedding, taking into the consideration not only a script but also all the attributes of organisation including the budget. The last part of the thesis uses the comparative method to map the change of a typical regional wedding and describes this event as a system of rituals subsuming indispensable contemporary features.
