Pharmacological pain management in labour

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se věnuje problematice farmakologických metod porodní analgezie. Zaměřuje se zejména na jejich účinnost, nežádoucí účinky a využití v podmínkách českého porodnictví. Cílem je shrnout aktuální znalosti v uvedené oblasti. Metodikou práce je studium odborné literatury a analýza domácích i zahraničních studií, které sledují aplikace jednotlivých léčiv užívaných při tlumení porodní bolesti. Farmakologické metody porodní analgezie představují vysoce efektivní možnosti tlumení bolesti. Porodní analgezie má za sebou bohatou historii, během které byly stanoveny zásady současné, účinné a vysoce bezpečné porodní analgezie. Zlatým standardem v klinické praxi je epidurální analgezie. Přesto je velká skupina žen, které tuto metodu využít nemohou nebo nechtějí. Pro ty jsou k dispozici další možnosti od systémových opioidních analgetik a látek ze skupiny analgetik – antipyretik až po inhalační analgezii oxidem dusným.

Abstract:

Present thesis deals with the issue of pharmacological methods of birth analgesics. It focuses particularly on their efficiency, adverse effects and their usage in Czech obstetrics conditions. The goal is to summarize current knowledge in mentioned field. The work methodology contains the study of concerned literature and the analyses of domestic and foreign studies that follow the applications of individual drugs used for relieving labour pain. Pharmacological methods of birth analgesics present highly effective possibilities of relieving pain. Birth analgesics have rich history, during which the guidelines of current, efficient and highly safe birth analgesics were set. The golden standard in clinical practise is epidural analgesia. Still there is a big group of women who do not want to or cannot use this method. There are other possibilities available for them - from parenteral opioids and substances from analgesics – antipyretics group to inhalation of nitrous oxide analgesics.
