Analytical Psychology of Carl Gustav Jung in the Context of Methodological Pluralism

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá otázkou, proč tak vlivná a tvůrčí osobnost, jakou je švýcarský analytický psycholog Carl Gustav Jung, je tak častým terčem kritiky z řad psychologů a dalších vědců. Nejčastější výtky se zaměřují na Jungovy metody sběru a zpracování poznatků, které nesplňují kritéria současné vědeckosti. Jung se tak ocitl v zápase o metodologii v psychologii, jemuž nelze porozumět bez filozofické reflexe myšlenkového pozadí jednak metod současné psychologie, jednak analytické metody Jungovy. Práce je pokusem právě o provedení této reflexe.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the question of why such an influential and creative personality as the Swiss analytical psychologist Carl Gustav Jung is such a frequent target of criticism from the ranks of psychologists and other scientists. The most common criticisms focus on Jung's methods of collecting and processing knowledge that do not meet the criteria of current science. Jung thus found himself in a struggle for methodology in psychology, which cannot be understood without a philosophical reflection on the intellectual background of both the methods of contemporary psychology and Jung's analytical methods. The work is an attempt to make such reflection.
