Of Sisters in mercy of the 3rd order of st. Francis under The Auspices of the st. Family and their Activities in Brno in the 19th Centuries and the Early 20th Century

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o Kongregaci Milosrdných sester III. řádu sv. Františka pod ochranou Svaté Rodiny. Zaznamenává roky od jejich vzniku v roce 1886 do roku 1918. V těchto letech vzrostla, rozšířila oblast svého působení a posílila na členské základně. Tato kongregace byla založena roku 1886 v Brně na přání Červeného kříže, který jí v počátcích poskytoval základní materiální pomoc a zajistil jí také bydlení. Posláním této kongregace je péče o nemocné a ošetřovatelská činnost. Již od jejich počátků pracovaly v nemocnicích, ošetřovaly nemocné v soukromých domech a založily několik filiálek. Jejich působištěm bylo Brno, sídlily na Grohově ulici. Zde vybudovaly svůj klášter, kostel a další klášterní budovy. Za první světové války byly poslány na frontu, kde ošetřovaly raněné a nemocné vojáky. Za tuto práci obdržely vyznamenání. Mým cílem je zaznamenat vznik a vývoj této kongregace v 19. století a počátku 20. století.

Abstract:

This thesis is about The Congregation of Sisters in Mercy of the 3rd order of St. Francis under auspices of the St. Family. It is about activities of this congregation in the years 1886-1918. The Congregation was founded at the request of the Red Cross in the year 1886 in Brno. The Red Cross supported the Congregation at the beginning of their activities in Brno. The mission of the Congregation of Sisters in Mercy of the 3rd order of St. Francis under auspices of the St. Family is the care and the health help to the patients. They worked in the hospitals and attended on the patients in the private houses. They founded several health institutes. The site of work of the Congregation was Brno, Grohova street. There were built the convent, the church and other buildings. During the first world war, the sisters of the congregation were sent to the front to take care of the injured soldiers. My aim is to record the rise and the progress of this Congregation in the 19th century and the early 20th century.
