Relationship of plant clonality and differently aged waterlogged subsidence depressions in the Karviná-Doly cadastre

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem vztahu klonality cévnatých rostlin a tří různě starých zatopených poklesových kotlin v postindustriálním území katastru Karviná-Doly. Kromě rešeršní části byl uskutečněn i floristický průzkum, který proběhl na studovaných lokalitách v jarních i letních měsících. Lokality byly vybrány tak, aby sdílely vlastnosti, jako je potencionálně přirozená vegetace, půdní typ, klima a zároveň se nacházely ve vzdálenosti menší jak 2000 m, ve které jsou vlivy okolní krajiny na druhovou pestrost nejvýraznější. Rostliny byly sbírány v litorální oblasti, následně určeny a analyzovány z pohledu druhové skladby. V souladu s hypotézami byl na nejmladší lokalitě prokázán vyšší výskyt nepůvodních druhů a nižší druhová diverzita než na lokalitách starších. Pro výzkum vztahu mezi klonalitou (vyjádřenou klonálními indexy a četností daných populací) a různě starými poklesovými kotlinami byly provedeny analýzy, které neprokázaly závislost klonality a stáří zkoumaných poklesů, což může být vysvětleno příliš rychlou sukcesí vlhkých stanovišť a homogenitou krajiny. V průběhu floristického průzkumu bylo nalezeno šest druhů vzácných rostlin, např. vrbovka malokvětá (Epilobium parviflorum) a okřehek trojbrázdý (Lemna trisulca). Rovněž byly zaznamenány invazivní druhy, např. zlatobýl kanadský (Solidago canadensis) či trnovník akát (Robinia pseudoacacia). Práce může sloužit jako podklad pro budoucí studium klonality na větším spektru dat, rozšíření vzácných a nepůvodních rostlin a jejich dopadu na celkovou biodiverzitu. Mimo jiné je důležité upozornit na potenciální ochranu těchto významných mokřadních biotopů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the study of the relationship between the clonality of vascular plants and three differently aged waterlogged subsidence depressions in the post-industrial area of Karviná-Doly cadastre. In addition to the research part, a floristic survey was carried out at three sites during the summer and spring months. The places of investigation were chosen in a way to be united in characteristics such as potential natural vegetation, soil type, and climate while being located at a distance of less than 2000 m, where the effects of the surrounding landscape on species diversity are most pronounced. Plants were collected in the littoral zone, identified and analysed in terms of species composition. Consistently with the hypotheses, the youngest location showed a higher abundance of non-native species and lower species diversity than the older locations. To investigate the connection between clonality (expressed by clonal indices and abundance of given populations) and differently aged waterlogged subsidence depressions, analyses were conducted. However, they did not show importance in the relation between clonality and differently aged waterlogged subsidence depressions, possibly due to the rapid succession of wet habitats and landscape homogeneity. During the floristic survey, six rare plant species were encountered, including Epilobium parviflorum and Lemna trisulca. Invasive species, such as Solidago canadensis and Robinia pseudoacacia, were also found. This thesis can serve as a foundation for future monitoring of clonality on a bigger scale, expansion of non-native and rare plants, and their impact on overall biodiversity, while also highlighting the importance of conservation of these vital wetland habitats.
