Abstract:

Cílem této práce je posílení bezpečnosti vybrané množiny síťových prvků ve správě Ústavu výpočetní techniky Masarykovy Univerzity. Funkcionalita síťových prvků je rozdělena na tři části, možné útoky a metody obrany proti nim jsou následně rozebrány s ohledem na toto rozdělení. V praktické části práce jsou navržena bezpečnostní doporučení pro bezpečnější konfiguraci těchto zařízení a je implementován framework, který umožňuje aplikování těchto doporučení na danou síť. V závěru jsou zároveň prezentovány výsledky auditu konfigurací vůči navrženým doporučením.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on improving the security of the selected subset of network devices managed by the Institute of Computer Science, Masaryk University. Network device’s operations are divided into three distinct classes (Management, Control, Data) and possible attacks and approaches to mitigate the possible threats for these classes of operations are presented. Practical part of the thesis proposes a guideline for the secure configuration of these devices, and a framework which should lead to more secure configurations within the network. Moreover, the results of an audit of the configurations are presented.
