Feminist discourse and identity politics of Czech anarchafeminist magazines and riot grrrls zines

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je kvalitativní obsahovou analýzou anarchofeministických časopisů a riot grrrls zinů, které v nedávné minulosti vycházely nebo v současné době vycházejí v České republice. Klade si za cíl detekovat z obsahové i formální stránky tiskovin jejich přístup k pohlaví a genderu, a to i ve vztahu k politice identity, se kterou (ne)pracují ve svém politickém aktivismu. Anarchofeminismus i hnutí riot grrrls se vymezují proti stávající dominantní ideologii a mocenskému systému, čili proti státu, kapitalismu a patriarchátu. Anarchofeminismus však představuje jeden z mnoha proudů feminismu, feministické myšlení totiž není jednolitým, homogenním směrem. Jeho jednotlivé názorové proudy přistupují k pohlaví, genderu a (skupinové) identitě různě, nicméně jejich pojetí lze rozdělit do dvou základních diskursů: diskursu esencialistického, který trvá na neměnném (biologickém) pohlaví a (sociálním) genderu, a diskursu dekonstruktivistického, jenž spočívá v principu dekonstrukce, tedy „rozkladu“ domněle neměnného pohlaví a genderu. Oba dva přijímají určité klíčové teze, ze kterých v této práci vycházím, a hlavním cílem této práce je pak rozpoznat, do jakého z představených feministických diskursů bychom mohli zařadit český anarchofeminismus a hnutí riot grrrls. Vedle toho také představuji anarchofeministické a riot grrrls hnutí jako světonázor a v neposlední řadě i historii, vývoj a současné trendy tohoto hnutí ve světě i v České republice.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is a qualitative content analysis of anarchafeminist magazines and riot grrrls zines that were published recently in the Czech Republic or are being published nowadays. It is aimed to detect the approach of printed materials, as regards content and form, to sex and gender and its using in relation to identity politics that they are (not) dealing with in their political activism. Anarchafeminism as well as riot grrrls movement defy against current dominant ideology and power system, that is against state, capitalism and patriarchy. Anarchafeminism represents just one of many feminist currents. Feminist thought is not a homogenous direction. Its individual opinion currents differ in their approach towards sex, gender and (group) identity, nevertheless it is possible to divide their interpretation into two basic discourses: an essentialist discourse that follows the idea of invariable (biologic) sex and (social) gender, and a deconstructivist discourse that is based on deconstruction principle, i. e. „decomposition“ of ostensibly invariable sex and gender. Both discourses accept certain key theses this work is based on, and the main goal of this work is to recognize into which of the above introduced feminist discourses we could include Czech anarchafeminism and riot grrrls movement. Besides, I also present anarchafeminist and riot grrrls movements as an ideology, and, last but not least, a history, development and current trends of these movements in the world and in the Czech Republic.
