Possibilities and problems for Czech chamber ensembles accessing foreign musical markets

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá hudebním trhem klasické hudby, profesionálními českými komorními soubory a jejich uplatněním v České republice a v zahraničí. Cílem této práce je formulace základních definic pro hudební trh, jeho zmapování v České republice a zahraničí z pohledu komorních souborů s ohledem na překážky a podporu, se kterou se setkávají. Práce obsahuje také shrnutí předpokládaného vývoje. Poznatky budou aplikovány na situaci českého komorního souboru ISHA trio, který jich využije pro svou další činnost. Základními zdroji informací pro zpracování tohoto tématu jsou odborná literatura, internetové portály a osobní konzultace s umělci a profesionály z praxe. Pro přesnější zjištění aktuální situace českých komorních souborů na hudebním trhu jsem provedla výzkum mezi komorními soubory různého typu. V závěru shrnu nejdůležitější poznatky o fungování hudebního trhu a nejzásadnější problémy komorních souborů a doporučím způsob řešení.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the market of classical music, Czech professional chamber ensembles and the Czech chamber ensembles' employment in the Czech Republic and abroad. The aim of this thesis is to formulate basic definitions of the musical market, its mapping in the Czech Republic and abroad in terms of chamber ensembles with regards to the obstacles and support. The thesis includes also the summary of the anticipated development. The findings are applied to the case of the Czech chamber ensemble ISHA trio, which is going to use it for its future activity. Primary sources of information for the processing of this topic are monographies, internet portals and personal consultations with artists and professionals from the field of expertise. I conducted a questionnaire survey among ensembles of various types for more accurate findings of the current situation of the Czech chamber ensembles on the musical market. In conclusion, I will summarize the most important findings about the functioning of the musical market, the most fundamental problems of chamber ensembles and than I will recommend a solution.
