History and architecture of the Society of Jesus in Croatia

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo nastínit historii a kulturu jezuitského řádu na území Chorvatska. Práce klade především důraz na barokní architekturu, kterou řád využíval ke stavbě svých sídel či kostelů. Značná část je i věnována jeho historickému vývoji, od počátku jejich působení až po současnost. Práce je soustředěna na období baroka, kdy byla nejsilnější léta tohoto katolického řádu, ale prezentuje i pozdější historii a osud jak společenství, tak i architektury. V jednotlivých kapitolách je poukázáno na vývojové rozdíly, a v oddílu architektury na změny, které během staletí působily na budovy. Tedy nejen vlivy historické, či architektonické ale i přírodní.

Abstract:

Purpose of this thesis was to delineate history and culture of Society of Jesus on the territory of Croatia. Thesis is concentrating on baroque architecture, which was usually used by this order for their residency or churches. Significant part is dedicated to historical development since the beginnig until contemporaneity. Bachelor thesis is concentrated on period during baroque era, when there were the strongest years of this catholic order. It also presents the later history and destiny of the community and also of the architecture. In individual chapters are shown the developmental differences, not only for architecture section but also for infuelences which were changing the outwards of the building through the years. So not only the historical one but also architektonic and natural changes.
