Family as a element influencing a pupil' s school success at the training college and specialized secondary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Rodina jako činitel ovlivňující školní úspěšnost žáka na SOŠ a SOU “ pojednává o spojitosti sociálního prostředí rodiny se školním úspěchem žáka. Teoretická část práce se věnuje charakteristice a jednotlivým typům rodinného prostředí a především její roli ve výchovném procesu. Zabývá se povahou a životním stylem současné rodiny, vztahem a možnostmi spolupráce rodiny a školy. Uvádí specifika období adolescentního věku, přehled příčin a následných projevů školně neúspěšných dětí. Praktická část práce je tvořena kvalitativním výzkumem. Prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s informanty mapuje konkrétní okruhy problémů, jež se v rodinách vyskytují. Výsledek životních příběhů informantů konvenuje s výzkumnými otázkami a zároveň poskytuje prostor pro jasnější porozumění jejich chování a jednání.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis “Family as a factor of influence on school successfulness of secondary school and vocational school students“ deals with the connection of social environment of the family to the school failure of students. The theoretical part focuses on defining particular types of family environment, the main focus is placed on the role of family in the educational process. It deals with the nature and lifestyle of contemporary family, relations and possible co-operation between the family and school. It shows specific features of adolescence, an overview of causes and subsequent demonstrations of students who are not successful at school. The practical part is formed by a qualitative research. Using half-structured interviews with respondents, it surveys particular problematic issues in families. The result in the form of life stories of the respondents corresponds to the research questions and moreover, it leaves room for clearer understanding of their behaviour and manners.
