Interaction of pharmaceuticals with plants at cellular level

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je shromáždit a utřídit aktuální vědecké poznatky o interakci léčiv s rostlinami na buněčné úrovni, kde informace o interakci diklofenaku a tabákové buněčné suspenzi BY-2 jsou doposud nepočetné. Stále se zvyšující produkce a spotřeba léčiv má za důsledek jejich vstup do všech složek životního prostředí. Přítomnost léčiv je sledována zejména v půdách a vodním prostředí, kde se jejich vliv na necílové organismy projevuje v největší míře. Účinek léčiv na necílové organismy, hlavně na rostliny, však dosud není dostatečně prozkoumán. Působení těchto cizorodých látek v rostlině lze sledovat již na buněčné úrovni, na úrovni chemických a fyzikálních interakcí léčiv s buněčnou membránou. Proto je pro studium těchto interakcí nejvhodnější použití buněčných suspenzních kultur. Jako rostlinný materiál jsem si vybrala tabákovou suspenzi BY-2, která již byla využita jako modelový organismus pro celou řadu studií, díky své vysoké rychlosti růstu, životaschopnosti a fenotypové stabilitě.

Abstract:

The aim of thesis is to collect and organize current scientific knowledge about the drug interaction with plants at the cellular level, where information about the interaction of diklofenaku and tobacco BY-2 cell suspension are still not numerous. The ever increasing production and consumption of drugs has resulted in their entry into all components of the environment. The presence of a drug is monitored especially in soils and aquatic environments, where their impact on non-target organisms manifests itself in the largest extent. The effect of the drug on non-target organisms, especially the plants, however, is not yet sufficiently explored. The action of these foreign substances in the plant can be observed already at the cellular level,at the level of chemical and physical drug interactions with the cell membrane. Therefore, for the study of these interactions is the best use of cell suspension cultures. As the plant material, I chose the tobacco BY-2 suspension, which has already been used as a model organism for many studies, thanks to its high growth rate, viability and phenotypic stability.
